Invitations

I have talked about the Vista Print business on this blog quite a bit in the past.

For those who aren’t familiar, Vista Print rose to fame through an offer where people could order business cards and other stationery items for free. For affiliates in this program, they paid $4 per order. You can still see today affiliate banners for Vista Print all over the internet.

They have since expanded their business to things like Invitations. They offer many different customizable designs, such as for Weddings, Birthdays, Baby Showers, and also for announcements, such as moving house, or for thankyou cards - such as for wedding gifts.

The designs on the site are really quite cool. I think, as is the case with all sites, they cover some categories better than others.

Here’s an invitation to welcome a baby boy into the world:

There’s all in all many different options for the person who wants to send out a card that fits their tastes. There’s classy designs and there’s fun designs. There’s designs to suit a law firm and others to suit Jonny’s 6th birthday party.

Overall I’m very impressed with Vista Print’s business. They’re an online leader in all things stationery. My parents have used them before and were very happy with the results.

Most of my readers are familiar with the Google Pagerank system, where they rank sites 1 through 10. Many people use this system to value domains, websites, and also to decide how much money to spend on advertising. It’s important to webmasters, although its relevance is of late being questioned.

This blog has been PR0 now, for quite a while, but it didn’t affect the traffic… which hovers around 1500 visitors a month, or thereabouts.

But I had a lot of other websites just have a huge drop in Page Rank. And the problem is that all of them were linking to Jonks Bargains. Now, Jonk’s Bargains has had a huge fall in traffic from Google - about 70% - because the links to it weren’t considered worth anything anymore. :(

We’ve all experienced the black hole of missing socks.

The question is, where do they actually go?

Once, I hadn’t even worn a pair and one of them went missing. I can’t explain that one but is it possible that socks actually are disappearing from the washing machine?

I have never examined washing machines closely but presumably there’s an outlet where all the water as it gets drained out.

Is it possible that this is where socks are going? They’re easily the smallest item in normal load…
