A lot of people come to me for help when it comes to building websites and one of the first issues that they bring up with me is web hosting. What kind of hosting? What do I need? What price should I pay?
Amusingly, in nearly all cases, their first choice is horrible. It’s either some company charging 5x as much for the same product, or it’s a cheap-as-chips hosting company where you have to pay extra for MySQL! Now, I can just point these people to Web Hosting Geeks, a company that has rated their top 10 hosting choices. Now, as always, it’s a case of buyers beware so always go in with your eyes wide open and never choose Yahoo.
But generally the guide is good, I have heard of some of the hosts on there and they are reputable.
