Hi all, I’ve got a new blog got going. It’s fairly basic and not receiving many visitors yet of course but I’m looking forward to doing more posts and in greater detail as time goes by.

The idea is alternate uses of products around the home, money saving tips, stuff like that.

The Manifesto is the name of it. Silly name I guess but it’s a guide to a better life. It’s a work very much in genesis but hopefully will help some people out there gain some good tips.

One of the things about getting barrelled up by a credit card salesman is that you’ve really got no idea about all the other cards out there. What you need is a credit cards supermarket - where you can browse by category, pick and choose, and read the financial information on the back of the packet.

Obviously you can’t do that, but there’s something even better. It’s the same kind of idea but because it’s online it’s even easier. Cred\it Cards Club is a almost a “credit emporium” with all sorts of different cards on display depending on your needs.

This is the sort of place one should really be looking before applying for a credit card. There’s a big range to look at - cash back, business, airline rewards, low rate, no annual fee, balance transfer and even more. Actually, I had forgotten just how many credit card options there are! The list is quite substantial by anyone’s reckoning.

Since the last post, nothing has happened with the website.

Nothing!

This and 3 others like it were meant to go live on Monday but the problems begin when other humans enter the equation.

I hired one designer to do a header, the person disappeared. Luckily I hadn’t paid them any money.

Then I hired a second one, who has replied twice to my PMs but seems to be a serial procrastinator.

Let me tell you, the procrastination levels on the internet are high. Very high. You nearly always have to ride someone very hard to get some work delivered to you. And when you find a good service provider, you gotta book-mark it!

Forums.Digitalpoint.com is where I go to buy most web related things - domains, SEO, blog posts, design, coding help. It’s a mess and most people trying to sell stuff are useless but there are tons of diamonds in the rough so the look isn’t that hard.

And because of the fact that Indians and Chinese are all over the place, even the Americans who do better quality work have to price themselves much lower to get a slice of the pie.
