I know that there is a perception that the Real Estate market right now is in a lot of trouble and that there isn’t much of a future.

But let me tell you, if you aspire to become a Realtor, don’t let the troubles right now put you off.

Most of the market is still relatively strong, and not only this, Real Estate never stays depressed forever. It only stays down for a time being and bounces back like a tiger once again.

The perfect time to learn realty and establish yourself in the market is when it is soft. In that way, you are like a surfer who is paddling out when the waves have stopped in preparation for the big one about to come.

Key Realty School is a Las Vegas based supplier of Nevada real estate appraisal courses. This sort of thing is the perfect way to get your foot in the door to open up a solid career in the industry.

They offer all sorts of courses for budding Realtors. If you’re thinking about it, check it out.

There’s two types of learning, in my opinion.

Learning from being taught, or learning from experience.

Learning from being taught is the more boring way. You need strong self discipline, a clear goal and attentiveness to your task. But of course, a combination of the two is the way to deliver the best results.

For example, when I went to school, they tried to teach us touch typing but none of us wanted to follow the rigid discipline of building the correct typing habits. Instead, I learnt by experience and while I type some of my blog posts with my eyes closed becuse the monitor glare makes me tired, I know if I had stuck to the training I would be able to type maybe 40WPM faster. Currently I’m sitting around 70, 80WPM.

I learnt how to type quickly through use of MSN Messenger. Using it is fun, it gives you heaps of practise and puts you under a lot of time pressure. If you are having four conversations at once, you barely have time to look at the keyboard and your mind naturally trains you to type at extreme speeds and avoid mistakes.

When I’m high on adrenaline I can type 50% faster than normal. The words just fly from my hands through the keyboard.

The weird thing is, if you’re thinking about typing or talking about it, or showing someone how good you are, that’s when you tend to make the most mistakes. It’s as if the skill og typing is somewhat visceral and just involves letting the body take control.

When you want to build a website, one of the very first questions that needs to be asked is “where do I host it?”

There’s a huge plethora of web hosts out there competing for your business so it is important to find one you can trust.

Uptime is an important factor in web hosting. I have a dodgy web host who without informing took one of my sites down for maintenance… 20 minutes before it was going to be featured on national television in front of 8 million viewers.

They finished the maintenance 6 hours later. The site received 10,000 visits in the hours following and I’m still wondering how many people would have come otherwise.

I help small businesses build websites all the time and something I recommend is that they go with a pshared web hosting service. Dedicated hosting is not worth it as it is much more expensive and only worthwhile for websites that have extreme amounts of traffic and downloads.

Concentric.com is a provider of shared hosting services which is much cheaper than paying $300 a month for a dedicated server.
