Obama put his foot in it majorly the other day which has rocked his chances of taking Pennsylvania, but he will still win the nomination.

Barack Obama is really a bit of a miracle story, coming from polling behind both Hillary Clinton and John Edwards to be the story of the campaign, the magnetic candidate who everyone had their eyes on.

McCain was chosen, on the other hand, almost by default. He didn’t really bring anything to his campaign besides just having less liabilities than the other candidates did. Mitt Romney was never going to win as a mormon, and that is unfortunate.

Ron Paul was the man who brought the most excitement to the Republican campaign, but he had an unfortunate way of coming across as a doddering old Grandpa, without the ability to structure his answers properly or answer questions directly. He also lost credibility by voicing support for some disproven conspiracy theories.

The support and money that he generated just shows that there is a highly discontent and ignored base within the Republican Party, in some cases drawing 15% or even 20% of the vote away from the main candidates.
