Well, my beloved Red Sox have gotten off to a pretty decent start to the MLB season which has made us wannabe Bostonians happy.

This season has gotten off to an interesting start by virtue of the fact that Boston played their first two games in Japan. We have two gun pitchers from there - Daisuke Matsuzaka is the star but Hideki Okajima is my favourite. I personally think Okajima was one of the most influential pitchers last year, doing an incredible job filling the final innings hole - along Jonathon Papelbon forming one of the deadliest end of match pitching teams in the MLB, if not THE deadliest. For the first time in a long time, we had solid pitching to match our spectacular offense and accordingly took the World Series.

Anyway I’m getting sidetracked.

Matsuzaka is young and still coming along as a pitcher but he opened the series for the Bosox which breaks tradition in that normally the best pitcher on the tem opens.

However this was a special case as Daisuke, or Dice-K as he is known, is an absolute mega star in Japan. Luckily for him, he got the win against Oakland and has validated his celebrity status.

A few months ago my Dad (who lives in Sydney) called me up and told me that he was having a few digestive problems and the doctor was sending him for some cancer tests.

I was a bit concerned but didn’t worry too hard as I know worrying is pointless. Plus this didn’t seem to compare to my possible brain tumour saga. It’s much easier to go through something when you know what to expect.

Anyway, it turned out that my Dad was ok but he did need to have his colon cleansed. At first they recommended him to go to some colonic irrigation place which seems like one of the most intrusive personal hygiene procedures that one can possibly do.

In the end he bought some Colon Cleanse powder and he says some of his ’symptoms’ (I never really asked) have gone away. This is good news and shows once again that you really shouldn’t worry about the things you can’t control.

Google Analytics is really cool for analysing statistics.

I can see how many people have come to my site, what they do, how long they spend, and how they came.

And every month I get maybe 5 people searching not for matt newton, which could be anyone, but for mat newton. That’s pretty specific.

I also find it kind of freaky. Who are these people and why are they looking for me via Google? What do they want to know?

Anyway, if you’re some kind of freak who is cyber stalking me, go please yourself by reading about my trip to Mongolia here : www.matnewton.com/mongolia there’s also links to a big gallery of photos from the trip for you to get your rocks off. Hehe.

If you’re not some kind of freak, you can still visit. But say hi or something! I feel watched…

Nearly everyone who comes to my site through Google is looking for this post. I get ~200 visits every month by people looking for information on this. If you search on Google for the relevant terms, you’ll see why. I’m ranked #2 after Wikipedia.

The site that kills it much better than this one in Google is Jonk’s Bargains Unblock MSN and Unblock Hotmail pages which between them get ~200-250 visits from Google every day.

However, I anticipate my next project to do much better in Google than both of those two, after time. Content is king, people.
