Jack Hanes

One of my big heroes, Jack Hanes, is coming to my church in a week’s time.

If you read this blog and attend Citylife, you should really make sure to come.

My father rates Jack Hanes as one of the world’s best preachers. I don’t know about that - I can’t speak authoritatively - but I would say he is the best preacher in Australia.

He motivates me to act more than any other speaker. No preacher will inspire you more to lay down your life and take up the cross….

Jack Holladay is a well-renowned ophthalmologist who practises in Houston, Texas. What’s an ophthalmologist, you ask? It’s an eye doctor! And in his case, a surgeon as well. Specifically, a Lasik Surgeon.

Lasik surgery is laser surgery for the eyes. I was thinking about this a bit the other day. Imagine telling someone 300 years ago that there was technology that could fix their impaired vision. It’s one of those medical miracles which has been invented in the past century and is greatly improving the lives of whoever uses it.

Jack Holladay is as accomplished as you can get in a field like this, you would think. He has written close to 100 scientific articles, 34 chapters for books and spent many years training up new ophthalmologists to work in the field.

If you’re considering eye surgery, Holladay is the kind of guy you want treating you. Your eyes are your gateway to the world, and you should only trust them to physicians who are the best in their field. Holladay is one of those people.
