Hello all. Not a paid post, this is just awesome.

I’ve been waiting a little while to post about OzBargain.com.au which is owned by my pal and occasional commenter here, Scott.

I’ll be taking up maybe 5 of these deals. Sensational.

OzBargain.com.au is a community of people posting bargains that are online… not the sort at Jonk’s Bargains where it’s ongoing, cheap websites… These are hot deals that will expire. So you need to keep a close eye on it !!

Here’s some of the deals which are great:

Subway deal - buy four fresh fit meails from Subway, and you can get a Repco bike for $50 plus $10 p&h. That’s amazing.

Dominos Pizza $4.95 pick-up.

106cm plasma for $998.

VOIP phone adaptor $10. Plug this into your broadband, and you can put a normal phone in. You get connected to the very cheap VOIP service. 10c nationwide.

$5 free photos from BIGw

1Gb DDR Ram for 28.90

ACER notebook brand new $637 WOW. WOW. WOW.

Get in quick because these deals expire!!

Cool Excursions

Excursions can be a bit of a pissing contest between schools at times.

They’re otherwise known as educational tours and Hemisphere Travel will help any school piss further than the rest.

When Pete and I were in Beijing we saw a group of kids from Caulfield Grammar (ie. the school 20 minutes drive from where I live) traipsing around. They were in a pretty random area - we were just meeting up with the travel agent - but I felt so jealous of them.

The furthest our school ever got away was to ski trips. Then again, I can’t really complain as a lot of schools probably don’t even get that.

Hemisphere Travel have been going for 37 years and offer tours through the USA and Europe. They guarantee to beat any tour price, with the caveat that it has to match ‘quality’. That’s kind of ambiguous.

Reading through the site, this is the sort of thing that rich schools would want and afford. You want professional security guards patrolling the hotel hallways? You got it! Professional, accredited tour guides? Check!

This company must create some of the most special memories for children. I hope they’re grateful.

They could work on a website re-design but then again, noone’s perfect. The website is better than 80% of the other ones I look at.

I’m going to Tasmania on November 7 with my girlfriend. We’re flying down on the first flight and coming back on the last flight. Hopefully it’s a good day.

But get this - I got free car rental. That’s right. FREE. Of a Hyundai Getz. (Well, I guess you can’t win em all.)

I headed over to the cheap car section of Jonk’s Bargains to see if I could get a deal on car rental.

One of the websites there is Vroom Vroom Vroom which offers cheap car hire.

You put a location in, desired dates and the website returns a list of car rentals available at that place from cheapest to most expensive. It’s sensational, and takes a lot of the effort out of researching.

After booking I noticed a thing on their site saying “webmasters, if you link to us, we may be able to give you a discount”

I emailed them about it, pointing them to my links in the cheap travel and cheap car sections and asking what sort of discount was on offer.

Well, the answer came back. They would give me the booking FREE. How good is that? I’ve talked to their guy who says that on average, webmasters receive a 30% discount. Either way, this is great for webmasters, and great for me.

Vroomvroomvroom is a great website anyway- remember that I booked through them BEFORE I knew about this deal. I really rate their service.
