Hilarity ensues

-
Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. There are 5 people in my family, so it must be one of them. It’s either my mum or my Dad, or my older brother Colin, or my younger brother Xian-Zhi. But I think its Colin.
-
My friend drowned in a bowl of muesli. A strong currant pulled him in.
-
A man came round in hospital after a serious accident. He shouted,
“Doctor, doctor, I can’t feel my legs!”
The doctor replied, “I know you can’t, I’ve cut your arms off”.
-
Our ice cream man was found lying on the floor of his van covered
with hundreds and thousands. Police say that he topped himself.
-
Ireland’s worst air disaster occurred early this morning when a
small two-seater Cessna plane crashed into a cemetery. Irish search and
rescue workers have recovered 1826 bodies so far and expect that number
to climb as digging continues into the night

Travel advice

How cool is that photo? I just dug it off a travel guide website called RealTravel.com.

The photographed location is Salar Uyuni:

Salar Uyuni is a gigantic salt plain in Bolivia.

This sounds stupid but I feel grateful to Real Travel for having helped me learn that today. (Although I think I had heard of it before, because when I saw the pic I thought… I think that’s in South America.)

If you want to know whether a travel guide website is the real deal you need to go check out the info on a place you know a lot about. In my case, this was Mongolia.

The blogs and photos took me straight back to so many different memories. I felt overwhelmed, almost, by the waves of nostalgia as all sorts of different memories, tastes, smells and sensations rushed back to me.

This is by far the best source of real Mongolian travel experiences I have ever encountered. All the blogs and pictures capture the essence of Mongolia in their own way.

The site feels a little cluttered and not very intuitive, but for the quality of information it was good.

Overall the most useful function of this site is reading other people’s blogs. This is my favourite way to do travel research as you can judge their advice and experiences based on their context.
