I’m currently looking at a website that has an offer to small businesses to set up web design templates for them.

I’m just wondering : if you had a small business would you go on for this kind of service.

It’s very hard to make money through the web with a site so recouping expenses is difficult for most. You would have to use this as an extension of an offline business.

Offline businesses can use a website very effectively if they want. While the designs I’m looking at are quite nice, I’m not sure on price.

Is $80/mth in the ball park for you? I’d personally prefer to pay a larger upfront fee and a low-ongoing monthly cost.

The statistics package seems impressive. They’re also advertising flash graphics as a feature of the website but this wouldn’t be so good for those seeking search engine traffic.

Bizarre pingback

I published the FutureQuest post about 10 minutes ago. Within that time I have received

this pingback that has taken half my post and linked to it.

It’s definitely automated. But it’s not content scraping. I can’t really figure out what is going on here…

Actually I just had the realisation. Instead of leaving spam comments to get linkbacks they’re leaving spam pingbacks to build link in Google. Kind of smart.

If that’s the wrong conclusion please correct me.
