My website selling tailored shirts has launched. These are the ways I will try and market it. Hopefully if you’re in business you can glean something here.
1. To start off with, selling discounted Gift Vouchers on sites like CraigsList, Gumtree and eBay. I’m doing this simply to put my shirts on people’s backs. Some people in my test order program tell me they have received compliments, multiple times. I believe in my product - that people will be impressed enough with their first shirt that they’ll be back for more. Especially taking into account point 2:
2. When someone buys a shirt, it will come with a letter. That letter will give them a discount code of 10% which they can use themselves or pass on to their friends. Every five times the code is used they are then eligible to receive a free shirt. (If you want a discount code to pass on to your friends or mention in your blog just email me matthew a)newtonclothiers.com. You don’t need to buy a shirt.)
3. Offering discount codes of 10% to certain groups of people - such as basketballers, jockeys, ‘little people’ - who would have a need for my product.
4. Try to get articles written by relevant magazines, newspaper sections. To make the article more ‘news-worthy’ I might talk about a specific group that has benefited from my shirts - such as short-statured guys.
5. Sell Gift Vouchers through sites that promote the sale of GVs for a small charge.
Do you have any thoughts/ideas on how I can market my business? Tell me! Make a comment. I’m still trying to figure out how to turn moderation off so have patience with me while I do that.
